Salesforce Consultant for Contractors

Conduit Systems is a Salesforce consultant for contractors, based in Dallas-Fort Worth, focused on construction and the trades, and led by a founder who has built and run the CRM for a DFW general contractor. We clean up the Salesforce you already pay for and fit it to how you bid and run jobs.

Where Salesforce goes sideways for contractors.

Salesforce can model almost any process. That is also the problem: without one person who owns it, every admin, consultant and app leaves something behind.

Built for a sales team you don’t have

Leads, opportunities and forecasts assume reps closing deals. A contractor tracks bid invites, due dates, go or no-go calls and awards, so the team works around the system.

Fields nobody fills in

Years of custom fields, duplicate picklists and required fields that block a save. People stop updating records and keep the real status in a spreadsheet.

Automations nobody can explain

Old Workflow Rules and Process Builders sitting beside newer Flows on the same record. Emails go out twice, or not at all, and nobody wants to touch them.

Reports you can’t trust

Win rate, backlog and pipeline by estimator come out wrong, because a stage or a close date means something different to each person who sets it.

What we fix

What a Salesforce cleanup covers.

Most contractors who call us already have Salesforce. The first job is making it fit, not adding more to it.

An audit before any change

We go through objects, fields, page layouts, automations, users and reports, and write down what each one does and who uses it. You see the list and the plan before anything is removed.

A bid record that matches your process

Invite, due date, scope, estimator, the go or no-go call and why, bid amount, and award or loss. Built on opportunities or a custom object, whichever fits your org.

A clean handoff at award

When a bid is won, the contacts, scope notes and final number carry over to whoever runs the job, and to your project management software where it has an API, so nobody retypes it.

Automations rebuilt in Flow

We keep the automations that earn their place, rebuild them as Flows, and turn the rest off one at a time, testing each change before it goes live.

Reports the owner and estimators both read

Win rate by trade or client, bids by month, backlog and follow-ups due, built on stages everyone uses the same way.

Training and a written handoff

Short training for the office and the estimators, and a plain-language record of what we changed, so the next admin is not starting from zero.

Honest fit

Is Salesforce the right CRM for you?

Keep Salesforce when

  • You run more than one office or division.
  • Someone on staff owns the admin work, or will.
  • Years of history and integrations already live in it.
  • You need custom objects, record types or approval steps.

Look at a lighter CRM when

  • You are one office and nobody owns the admin work.
  • The team mostly uses it as a contact list.
  • The licence cost is the main complaint.
  • Most of what was built never gets used.

If a move would serve you better, we will say so on the first call and price it. For the trade-offs, read CRM for general contractors and Zoho CRM vs HubSpot for contractors, or see all of our CRM setup work.

FAQ

Salesforce questions contractors ask us.

Not covered here? Bring the question to a 30-minute call and get a straight answer, with no pitch deck.

What does a Salesforce consultant do for a contractor?
Sets Salesforce up around how you win and run work: bid records, stages that match your go or no-go and award steps, the handoff to the project manager, and reports the owner trusts. For most contractors who already have Salesforce, the first job is cleanup, not new features.
Do we need a full-time Salesforce admin?
Not usually at 5 to 50 people. You need one person who owns requests and a partner for changes. We write down what we build, so whoever picks it up later can follow it.
Should we switch from Salesforce to something cheaper?
Sometimes. If you are one office, nobody owns the admin work and most of the setup goes unused, Zoho CRM or HubSpot may cost less to run. If you have years of history, integrations and more than one division, cleaning up Salesforce is often cheaper than moving. We will tell you which on the first call.
How much does Salesforce consulting cost?
It depends on the state of your org. After a 30-minute call we send a written scope with a fixed price within 48 hours. Your Salesforce licences stay billed by Salesforce, not by us.
Do you build large custom Salesforce apps?
No. We focus on cleanup, configuration, Flow automations and reporting for owner-run contractors. If you need a large custom build across several Salesforce products, we will tell you so and suggest a specialist firm.
Do you work with contractors outside Dallas-Fort Worth?
Yes. We are based in Carrollton, Texas, and do the work remotely, so we work with contractors across the United States.
